Hi, I just came across an article which stated that there's some kinda coverage available for even trees, plants or shrubs. They haven't been through the details of such policies though. Any idea!

Hi,

Natural disturbances and climatic changes have certainly affected the growth and preservation of plants, trees, shrubs, fruits, berries etc. Barring the crop insurance there has not been any significant effort to cover our live assets.

This kinda coverage would be truly essential, since they'd cover the live assets against-
Hurricanes, firestorms, snow, lightning, hailstorms, smoke, hooliganism, falling objects etc.

I started Live Asset Insurance in 2007 after reading an accounting memo stating "landscaping can now be treated as an asset on the balance sheet" I simply found a way to insure them!

After 25 years in the business doing home, auto and commercial lines; it was clear to me that landscaping was typically not insured like other assets. After calling around it was clear that there was no available coverage because there was no way to measure the value or health conditions of a living organism. I partnered with a firm that created a database of valuation and health conditions for over 750,000 plants, and then found an Insurance Carrier interested in the concept; and simply pulled the parties together, forming Live Asset Insurance.

Thank You.
