Posted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 2:01 pm   Post subject: Suspension   In georgia can your license and tag get suspended if you don't have insurance on your car for about 3 months due to lack of funds even though you don't drive the vehicle? Posted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 5:26 pm   Post subject:    I can't speak for GA specifically but many state do exactly this. If you don't have insurance on the vehicle you can't drive it on public streets. If you can't drive it on public streets then you don't need valid registration. That is the argument. Truth is, it makes it much easier to catch the people who drive without insurance.
