We recently had our refrigerator spring a leak in back where the ice-maker water line connects to the fridge. The result ruined our hardwood floor in our kitchen and dining room. Is this something our insurance will/should cover? It's possible (but not sure yet) that a mouse chewed through the water line. Would that matter? Would it make it more or less likely that it would be covered? Thanks in advance.

It mainly depends on the insurance policy you own. In this case, it should cover the expenses caused to you. Contact them immediately and let them know.

It depends on the clause of your home insurance agreement but I don't think the company will cover it. But you must ask them.

According to me, you should first check out the agreement made with the insurance company, It must be given on the policy whether it covers this type of damage or not. If it's a water damage, then you can directly claim as a water damage to your insurance agent. I remember, a few days ago, my aunt also faced a similar problem, when her bathroom tub was got chocked due to the water lines to drop items, cracks, and scratches, etc.. so she decided to claim an insurance company for this by taking help from Website of Alliance public adjusters as they are licensed insurance claims professionals that appraise damage, prepare written estimates/documentation, and negotiate settlements on behalf of the homeowner.
