Is insurer's body shop a mandatory!

Hi!
Is it mandatory that I have to use my insurer's body shop for repairing my car? derbybaseball

Not at all. According to the "antisteering law" in most of the states, insurers can't ever force you to opt for a certain repairs arrangement. Sasha T

I agree with you at that Sasha. But then, if I opt for a body repairs shop that has neither been recommended nor been approved by my insurer then I might jus need to bear some other expenses too. What about that ?

Hi, Its quite true that the auto insurers like the customers to use their preferred auto body repairs shops just to facilitate the repair, reduce costs, and to ensure that its a quality repair. Some of these shops would also allow the customer to go for some discounts from time to time, thus reducing the expenses of the customer to some extent.
