I am sure everyone here has at some point or other seen those GEICO ads claiming to save you at least 15% on your auto insurance? Well for me it turned out to be a much better deal. I did have my insurance with Allstate and thought I'd check around this time and got quotes from both Progressive ( it was even higher than Allstate) and GEICO. Using the same info, same deductibles and same amount of coverage GEICO was cheaper over 30%.
I have never used GEICO before but when selling cars those clients who did use this company always seemed to be very pleased. I am not one who usually likes to change the status-quo but this was enough difference I thought it was worth a try.
Thought I'd pass it along it was coming time to renew for others too. _________________ A simple smile, or one kind word can often times give a flicker of hope to someone who's lite has all but gone out.
Great! Hey let us know when the next policy term comes if your rate jumps ok? Don't panic I'm not saying it will, just curious... _________________ Have you been helped by a poster? Do you want to show your appreciation? YOU CAN !! Just simply click on the donate button and send them some coin!
Thanks for passing the info to us. Hope Geico works good for you. I too am wanting to switch, may check out with Geico as well. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved.
Hope you have compared all the coverages well before switching. Often we fall prey to the luring cheap rates without comparing the benefits. And more often than not we are tend to miss out things when we switch, mostly because of the ambiguous verbiage of the documents. Therefore, try to clear out your areas of doubts from the agent before signing the policy papers. Also keep us updated with 'what happened next?' as well. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved.

Yup got the same identical coverage that I had. The difference could be in any claim that might have to be filed but then I really would have nothing to compare the response of GEICO to since I have never had to file a claim with any insurance. But I'll update this thread if anything negative happens or if *knock on wood* , I do have to file a claim for some reason and will tell how that part goes. Let's hope I never have to find out. _________________ A simple smile, or one kind word can often times give a flicker of hope to someone who's lite has all but gone out.

Same holds true for me. They were the cheapest and actually, my rates have never jumped as I have read so much about. I've been pleased with Geico insurance.
If your in an accident you will see why you saved a ton of money.....they like to throw Non-oem parts on your car. Doesn't do a whole lot for the value of your vehicle. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved.
See guys, I won't buy the idea of a hell lot of difference in a competitive market! If Geico has managed to offer you all that you needed within a reasonable cost, then why would not the others be able to do it?
I'd rather consider what bodyman has to say regarding the use of non-oem body parts during repairs. If not, there's gottabe a premium-hike in store for me within the coming renewal terms. But yeah, its all about being smart & innovating smarter promotional strategies which many have not been able to adopt till date. But if I look in to the future I see a lot of changes coming up!

Hi...see what I see from the online records, Geico generates direct premiums for around 30% of the group's property & casualty. Geico general insurance co. would even offer auto mobile insurance by choice to the non-govt. employees or military servicemen simply because they show they gather around 41% of the direct premium for the group. On the other hand the Geico indemnity co. which constitutes around 22% of their group's premiums would offer standard auto policies & motorcycle policies. Thus their primary aim has been to offer auto coverage but they would also try out their luck at home owners. This is one good way of showing us why they would never think of unexpected premium hikes, since they have different target-users & policies are being designed accordingly.

Yes, Geico's primary aim has been to do auto insurance business, but now for quite sometime they are into home insurance business. When I check out on the probable reasons for Geico's success within a shorter span of time, a number of reasons would come to the surface-
* Geico would generate a lot of internet leads
* Geico would outsource their lead-generation to call centres
Many of these attempts have been undertaken by their competitors of late. ArindamSenIndies

Huh, I got a couple of sources more!
They had life insurance business proposals for the insure.com. Yes, they would directly gather leads through their website & call centers. But, they'd mostly get home insurance leads from the Insurance Counselors Inc.

Come on Body man, you think Gieco is the only company that uses non-oem parts? I'd venture that 99.9% do...based on certain critera, with the possible exception of states such as MN that do not allow it without owners consent....then no carrier can in those states.. _________________ Have you been helped by a poster?
