I don't see any reason why you need to get scared for just providing them with your Medicare number. After all, this is a govt. program and I don't think they're going to play with it. Did they ask you to fill out an online form or provide them with any other financial information? _________________ AmPmInsure Blog |

I have worked for MedPoint for over 3 Years and have experienced their growing pains in the beginning. Everyone I have dealt with at MedPoint has been most helpful. They care about thier members first and foremost! I can honestly say I would not consider working for any other company. MedPoint has stood behind me on all the way with support. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

I was contacted by telephone by a woman who said she represented MedPoint and offered me a free meter and blood testing supplies. She asked me for the last four numbers of my Medicare number and then later in the conversation she asked me for the last six numbers. I feel uneasy about this because I go to great lengths not to give out my personal information because of identity theft. Was this a legitimate query? _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

My recently widowed aunt felt she was being scammed because the number that was left for her to call, had no voice mail set up and could not be reached. Is she right to be wary? _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

| You can do an online research on the company. Once you read through the reviews you might be in a better position to help clarify your aunt's doubts. In addition, you may also come across a few other contact numbers that they have. |

Due to rampant abuses in the recent past, Medicare's "rules" for payments to providers of medical supplies are changing in 2011. Unless the provider is "approved" by Medicare, payments for supplies such as catheters, diabetic testing meters/strips, mobility devices, and more, will not be made and the Medicare beneficiary could be responsible for the expense 100% out of pocket.
If in doubt, you can check the status of approved providers on the www.medicare.gov website. _________________ CA-licensed P&C Broker-Agent and Life Agent. CA Insurance Lic #0596197. your medicare number is the same as your social security number. it is very unwise to give anyone who you do not know any personal information over the phone when the person has contacted you. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

This is good advice. If you make a call to a known person (such as to the local Social Security Office), it will be OK to give them your SSN if they ask for it. But when someone calls you, you have no idea who they are or where they are, and to give them personal information, like your Social Security Number or your Debit Card PIN number, is asking for trouble. _________________ CA-licensed P&C Broker-Agent and Life Agent. I have been a member with MedPoint Advantage for 4 1/2 Years. I have been very satisfied with the company and the service they have provided me. I was diagnosed as a type II diabetic over 30 years ago. I went decades without anyone or any company caring about helping me control my diabetes. MedPoint Advantage changed all of that! I have finally got my blood sugar under control and lowered my A1c with their assistance. I no longer test 7 x's daily. I only test twice a day because of the MedPoint Advantage program. My life has improved due to the MedPoint Advantage diabetes management program.
Keep up the great work for all of us seeking help!!!!

I agree with David. MedPoint is a fabulous company. My mother and father both use this company for diabetes care. Without them I could not sleep at night.
