Can someone shed any light as to what is Moving Insurance? Sometimes it becomes crucial for the interstate movers to have appropriate insurance for the bags and baggage.

Any help will be appreciated
Thanks in advance :)

I guess it has to do something with Travel insurance. Otherwise I'd try to associate with mobile homes. Let's wait for other opinions as well.

It has nothing to do with "travel insurance". When your property is in transit while "in the care, custody, and control" of a third party, such as a moving company, the coverage you have under a homeowner's is more limited than when the property is in your own care, custody, and control.

Just in case the moving company shirks its responsibility to cover your possessions with its own liability policy, you may purchase a separate "Moving" insurance policy with increased limits to cover your goods while in transit/storage.

"Travel insurance" (commonly, Travel Accident Insurance) is coverage for accidental personal injury or death while more than 100 miles away from home. The coverage may or may not include benefits for sickness. The travel insurance routinely sold to ocean-going cruise passengers is often called "trip interruption insurance" and will cover a multitude of contingencies, accident, sickness, travel delays, ship disablement, etc.
