I’m renting a villa just adjacent to the landlord’s. It’s just 2 months now that I’ve come to this new place. You could call me a weird fella since I keep some gentlemen whom other avoid. A big bend, a desert king, two checkered garter and 1 Texas patch nosed. These are all non-venomous snakes and never attack anyone in past. My landlord suddenly came to know about them and has asked me to throw them out or move out.

He said that previously a person with a dog was renting the place, which attacked a stranger and he sued the landlord.

I was wondering if I get renters insurance. Would that cover me if these poor creatures mistakenly attack someone and put the landlord at ease?

You are perhaps not thinking of moving out since it's just 2 months now that you came here. You have to have the confidence of your landlord. Why don't you keep them in a restricted place? For example, a big jar (aquarium) used to keep fishes and reptiles and show your landlord. This might help.

However, some renters insurance policies include Liability and Guest Medical protection, which could be of your help.
