Presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) has put forth an ambitious health care plan.[1] The plan proposes:

* Expanding eligibility for existing public programs, including both Medicaid and the State Children''s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP);

* Creating a National Health Insurance Exchange to serve as a federal regulator of private insurance plans that would compete alongside a new National Health Plan;

According to the experts the health plan professed by Mr. Obama will reduce the total number of uninsured and will also put a check on the soaring healthcare costs. It's the best time that we share our views on this matter since democracy runs on discussions

	Simon, at the outset thanks for sharing this valuable piece of news with us. The entire healthcare business in USA has become so expensive that many small employers are even dropping their employer funded health plan and thus depriving many medium-income household from receiving healthcare benefits.

	I think a check on the sky rocketing prices of health care have been way long over due. i have usually always had insurance but I have seen many suffer including my own mother because she could not afford health care. She was once even sent home from a hospitol after a one day stay. She should have been in the hospitol alot longer but the doctor came right out and told her he could not keep her since she did not have health care. I understand that hospitols can not treat for free but you also can not turn away ill people because of this. I really hope Obama addresses this matter.
