Dog breeder insurance risks

A few days back I was going through a forum discussion on dog breeder insurance. After I've searched online regarding such coverage, I just came to know that the insurance providers would consider a few dog breeds to be
riskier than the others. Do they deny coverage for dogs that fall within this category?

It's true that some dogs would fall under the "high risk breed" category. You may have to go through a tough time shopping for insurance to get such pets covered. Even when you'd manage coverage for such pets, you may still need to pay more in terms of premium costs.

It's debatable if a particular dog breed is risky or not!
On the other hand, it understandable that it's important for an insurer to analyze those liability claims which are consistently arising out of any specific dog breed. After all, they have to make sure that their risks are properly evaluated and costs are under control.

Some people are of the opinion that these assumptions are not reliable. They'd stress on the fact that all dogs stand the risk of being dangerous irrespective of their breed. However, our pet dogs could be dispatched to the local dog shelter if we don't get them covered.
