Do we get our recreational vehicles covered under our existing auto insurance?

Hi, auto insurance is a sub-category of vehicle insurance. Recreational vehicles would also be covered under a specific type of vehicle insurance. RV's have their own specific risks to be covered and hence their premium determination process also varies.

Your premium would very much depend on the risk that you pose for your carrier. Think of boat insurance!
The boat moves faster if it has a larger motor. A faster moving boat is more difficult to handle and thus holds more risk of causing an accident. This risk has a direct effect on the premium worth.
