On 4/08 I purchased a 2009 Dodge Journey SXT financed $25k payoff $20k on 10/09 head on collision other insured at fault and other insured adjuster deemed my vehicle and his vehicle total loss.
Today the adjuster called me and made his settlement offer $19k???? What???? I fought tooth and nail....researching emailing his photos pointing out the discrepancies in his figures..his average estimate were from vehicles missing major features of my vehicle..used everything I possible could and stayed firm..never intimidated......well...............................I got $24,015!!!!! whew...
Everyone fight do your research it is possible to win you do not have to settle.

A tired but happy car owner

Congratulations on your diligence and perseverence. Someone once stated, "Those who fail to assert their rights lose them."

I'd agree that everyone should review/question total loss values from insurance companies. Whenever someone posts a problem about the valuation done, I state every time that they should be reviewed. I've seen it happen time and time again where certain options are missing (I once had an appraiser fail to add a sunroof and nav system). I've also seen problems with the comp vehicles used as comparison. This is not to say that the recent oil change or the 3 year old tires are going to change the value but many things can. Success will vary with insurance company/adjuster.
