My policy lapsed on the 26th of October and I paid online on the 29 of October. I was driving to work on the 30 th of October during a storm and was caught in a flood. Am I covered?

You should be if your premium was accepted prior to the loss. However, be prepared for the carrier to independently verify the date and time of loss...including requests for your cell phone records.

Depends... was the policy reinstated with a lapse in coverage or not. Really only your carrier can answer this question.

LORI.........why WOULDN'T his premium be accepted? If it WASN'T accepted, wouldn't his Insurance company tell him right then and there? Of course, I'm not the Insurance expert, LORI...YOU are!!LOL Sometime ago, my Insurance 'lapsed' for a few days. As soon as I made my payment, I was covered again. Just wondering why there would be a 'delay' when the payment was made by the OP.

If the OP was a risk that they really didn't want, and he was late on his premium (policy lapsed) they do not HAVE to accept and reinstate his policy...

Not necessarily he paid it on line...You can bet your bottom dollar...(if his carrier has any sense at all) there will be a long in depth investigation, with independent proof of the date and time of loss, as there well should be.
