Cinergy Health

I have been scammed by this company... to the tune of $20,000. I have failed to find ANYONE who can help me on this matter; no govt agency will. This is tragic and frustrating, and DEVASTATING. Can you think of what I might try to do to get justice?

DO NOT fall for their health plan; it's all a scam. I've found just about every website I can on them, I think, but thanks for any new ideas. The CEO of Cinergy is a known criminal and scammer named Daniel Trouizer, apparently living in Canada. Cinergy itself is just an advertising company, and is actually licenced in CA. Am Med however is being banned from many states as people slowly catch on; they are not licenced in CA but use Cinergy to collect premiums. They may pay for a few minor things but not ER or hospital (well $100/day, which is insignificant if your bill is $7500 for overnight in the ER!!!!). So they continue to "fly under the radar." Daniel T. is also involved in many investment scams and the money is skimmed and purportedly placed in relatives and foreign bank accounts. They are gearing up as the recession/depression deepens and more people are laid off and Cobra is running out. Real insurance companies turn you down if you are healthy but even taking an antidepressant or anti-anxiety drug. Good grief, I PRAY for a way to get justice. Just about - NO - EVERY Govt. agency I've contacted discourages me. The CA Insurance Commissioner is working on a case but these guys are slippery. It seems the problems are the "across state lines" thing. Lets hope they DO something. The Governor of NY HAS banned them and fined them, only not nearly enough. But have they helped the people ripped off? Stay tuned. I refuse to give up but am tired and very discouraged. I'm running short on ideas. I've Googled every possible thing and just get more and more horrified at the HUGE scope of it all. Why are not more people squawking over this!!!!!!!!!

Sounds very serious. If the problem is as widespread as it appears is some sort of class action suit a possibility? I'm sure there are lawyers out there queuing up to go after something like this.

so that I'm clear, is the problem that American Medical are not licenced in Cali, or that the cover they provide has been misprepresented?

Cinergy, the advertising company, seem to be complicit but otherwise not doing anything expressly wrong. the marketing material they produce is on the order of Am. Med, who ultimately have responsibility for ensuring their messages are correct and legal.

If Am Med aren't licenced in CA, but are selling their products there, then they must surely be breaching some california state laws? If their advertising is misleading or misrepresents their actual cover, then surely they are liable under some sort of federal laws as well?

I'm far from an expert on how the US legal system works, but it seems to me that there could be both state and federal laws being breached here?

Ohio Cinergy Health Insurance is pretty popular, especially among those with health problems.

They also tend to advertise fairly heavily certain times of the year (Summer).

I do not recommend their plans to clients, but there are some situations where they might be worth considering. Of course...clients need to READ THE FINE PRINT.

NEWS FLASH Well, something has happened in Arkansas to take down Cinergy and American Medical. See below for web site URL.

The struggle with Cinergy Health goes on for the rest of us. I am glad people are being warned though. I have done all the things you suggest "Heidrek" and things are still in process but nothing too dramatic is happening so far.

More and more media stories are coming out to warn people of this problem. I found out just yesterday that Mar. 11 the state of Arkansas (Arkansas Commissioner of Insurance and the Governor of the state) have issued a press release about a cease and desist order against Cinergy Health Inc. and American Medical and Life (AMLI).

So some things are happening. I hope Steve Poizner, Commissioner here in CA takes notice of all of this and does something as well abd maybe follows the lead of the Commissioner in Arkansas, I would so hope he would take a personal interest this himself as did the Commissioner in Arkansas and other states like NY. Mr. Poizner is also running against Meg Whitman for Governor of CA.

Not that it solves the problem of those of us already ripped off, but the media including National publications, are taking notice of all of this, I know first hand. So this is a step in the right direction. Meanwhile it is amazing how difficult it is to get anything going here in CA, especially on one's own. Here the lawyers are not that interested (they won't make enough money?) If you go to the website for Cinergy and negotiate your way around and view the CV's of management, WOW, some pretty lofty credentials.... like law degrees amongst them. One must conclude that the take-home salaries of these guys are very high, ill gained in hurting/scamming and deceiving the public, not just my opinion.

Check out the Arkansas site: Just google Arkansas Commissioner of Insurance and go to that page, then click on News Releases and read the most recent (March 22, 2010) and you can read it in PDF form. Yes, things are happening there to protect the public form this.
