Will a homeowner's policy cover a lost diamond from a weddin

While at work the diamond was lost from the wedding ring.

If you have a standard HO policy, you need to check it, but most I've read would cover theft (of the entire ring), up the limit allowed in the policy. But expressly exclude loss of a stone from it's mounting...but check..
