I hit a car and had no insurance. I lost my license for 2 years, now they say my license is suspended indefinitely because the other person's insurance co. has a claim for 10,000. against my license? Their uninsured insurance covered their vehicle. Is this legal, and why can't I get my license after the two (2) years has expired? _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

It is 100% legal and just!
_You_ caused someone to loose $10,000. Your licenses was suspended for 2 years as you did not carry the required insurance as stated by law. These are _two completely different issues_. In addition to be punished for not following the law (suspended license) you were also required to address the other person's loss. You've not done that, so the other carrier requested your license be suspended until you pay.
As mentioned, it's perfectly legal and I'll start the long line of people who think it's 100% fair.
(BTW - having a DL is a privilege... not a right. |

Your license was suspended as you did not have the required insurance as per the state law. And as you are at fault in the present situation, you are liable for all the damages caused. So it is legal that your license would remain suspended till you cover all the damages. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |
