How are Long term Assited living Facilitied funded? Do the state pick up the tab for those that only receive a small ss or disablity check a month? Or is it up to the person running the Facility to locate and obtain funding through grants and donations. I cared for two of my uncles and a grandparent. I am now thinking of doing this full time for others and I am ttrying to research all the options that if any I can use. I would like all opions on every ones thoughs on this industry good and bad.

Thanks

My friend, I feel you perfectly fall into the criteria of being regarded as an informal caregiver to your uncles and your grandparent.

The Federal program for long-term insurance would surely provide for all the services offered by you as an informal caregiver to your near ones. They will pay for your services if you have served at home or any place other than a nursing home. You would also be benefited if you haven't shared the same home with them before they became eligible for any benefits.
regards,
Brian

Perfect! I'd only like to add to it, that all the benefits offered to you for serving each one of them under such considerations would last till 365 days of your relative's lifetime.

Now, at this point I would love to know if your services are approved by the federal care coordinator as a part of your relatives' Written Plan of Care. Is it? Bcoz, otherwise you won't be able to avail all the said benefits!
take care, attorneylife
