When do I have access to the recoverable depreciation

I have a claim in the amount of $12,495. Part of the claim is broken down into the dollars paid out. One of those parts is recoverable depreciation which is $5,000. This amount has not been paid to me and I want to know if I have access to these dollars before or after the work is done. So far I have been give about half of the estimates to fix the damage.

You don't need to rush for a final settlement immediately. Did the adjuster intend to negotiate further?

Typcially you are paid recoverable depreciation AFTER you prove that you have replaced whatever it was and suffered the loss...(ie cost of replacement = 1k you're paid 750, you go replace whatever it was and it cost the 1k or more-you submit the receipts and get the 250-clear as mud?)
