16 weeks ago she had a stroke also,and we were told she wouldn`t make it through the night,my uncle then went with her keys let himself in her house,broke into a cupboard that my gran has insurance documents,bank cards etc.stole them.my mum has contacted a lawyer about this.do you know what we can do and how we can locate who her policy is with/

The MIB is one place to look to a look up. But you could also look in the mail for any bills or statements from an insurance company.
Stealing the insurance documents isn't going to get anyone anywhere. The insurance company is going to pay whomever the named beneficiaries are. If you cannot ask her who the policies were with then because she's in a coma or something of that sort, it's too late for the uncle to attempt and make changes.

Sorry to hear this, I'd also contact the local police/prosecutor and see if you can get him for breaking and entering and theft of personal property.
If you have any idea who the carrier is, contact them, let them know what's going on. Does your Mom have a clue who they are? Are your Grans old bank (check) statements still in the house? Start going through those looking for checks made payable to an insurance carrier.
Oh, one other thing, find that Uncle and string him up :roll:
