Before you can have coverage under an "umbrella" liability policy, you need the underlying liability policies -- commercial general liability, business auto, any specialized liability coverage. Those policies will have high limits which are required to obtain an umbrella liability policy.

It's always a good idea to sit down with an agent and discuss all aspects of the business. He or she may spot some additional liability or coverage you need. The umbrella policy is excellent, but you need to assess what your limits or coverages entail.
