My air conditioner froze up and had to replace it yesterday.

This is the same air conditioner that was installed with the purchase of my new house which was purchased 3 years ago. The home warranty for the air conditioner only covered it for 2 years. The coils were rusted and mold was in there. It cost me 4,800 to repair it. I had surgery last Friday and when it stop cooling my relatives call the repairman and they came out last night and installed a new one. I had to do something because I had thyroid surgery and I needed to be cool.

You'd already mentioned that the home warranty is over. So, now the repair charges have to be borne by you. Do you wish to seek a reimbursement worth 4,800 from the AC company?

a fozen a/c...is a sign of low feon....a central air system should last 15 to 20 yrs......i am not saying...it did not need replacing....but the all they had to do is clean the coils......and add feon...i would recommend you get a electronic air cleaned.....and a uv light......the light will kill the mold build up.....and 99% of germs....i come from the heating/ac business.......unfortunitly some business' have people who will take advantage of a customer....i would not use the same company to add the air cleaner.....they are not trustworthy.....to add feon and clean the unit.....275 tops...(nj prices)...they turned it into 4800....what state do you live in.....if you live by the ocean you need a special a/c.....to stop the rust....i know mor about a/c than insurance..i am a newbie in insurance.i was getting to old to crawl around basements and attic's.....if anyone has anyand heating/ac questions even appliance repair.....i will help you or point you in the right direction......
