my girlfriens car was hit and i was on the out side chaining tires the other car was at falt but they had no insurance so my girlfriends insurance is going to pay a settlement. i have a slipped disk now in my back and have been out of work due to it. my doctor said it would be a lifetime fight i would have to deal with. even after surgery i would have to deal with it so i have not got the surgery yet. they want to pay no more then and defenetly under 50,000 they said is that fair?

There is just no way to tell. Location of the accident, your age, your current medical treatment, your ongoing treatment (surgery, etc), the exact nature of your injury and recovery, etc... all of these things needs to be considered in a settlement. Also, when you are talking about something more then a sore back or $2000 in treatment there is a _lot_ of room for different amounts. A little difference might be $50k to $75k.

With that said, was this their first offer? If so, they will probably go up... even if they said they won't. You may want to secure a letter from your doctor outlining what you will expect later in life. Give this to the adjuster.
