Manufacturer's warranty. Or other auto service contract. No coverage for this under auto insurance. It would have been better to crash the car, perhaps. But even then, only if you have collision coverage. _________________ CA-licensed P&C Broker-Agent and Life Agent. CA Insurance Lic #0596197. In most cases, engine damage can be covered with a full coverage car insurance. A full coverage policy includes comprehensive and collision coverage along with other types of coverage. Practically speaking, whether or not the insurance company will agree to pay for a damaged or dead engine depends on how it was damaged. How did the engine go out? _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

Only in a collision or similar comprehensive claim -- like a building fell on the engine. Generally, engine damage is mechanical breakdown and not covered under auto insurance. _________________ CA-licensed P&C Broker-Agent and Life Agent. CA Insurance Lic #0596197.
