Minor damage. I want to keep the claim cash.

Posted: Sat Jan 14, 2012 4:37 pm   Post subject: Minor damage. I want to keep the claim cash.   A few days ago I got out of office and went into the parking lot to get my car. While getting in I noticed that someone had put a dent on the side, nothing big but damage nonetheless. I wasn’t even in the car when it happened. I got the other guy’s insurance information and everything. If I take the check from the insurance company, am I obligated to have the damaged repaired? Consider the fact that if you ever get into another accident, you won’t be able to claim full value for the repairs since you will have pre-existing damage to the car.
