Tell the truth, or be prepared to be prosecuted for perjury. You don't have anything but the truth to tell, do you?

"Oh, it was only a little lie."

And Bubba will be your new spouse for only a little while.

If you are asking if you should cooperate the answer is a YES! It is in most if not all policies listed under "Your duties after a loss". Typically an examination under oath is going to take place with one of their attorneys and I always recommend to my clients to have their own attorney present as well.

If the insurance company wants an EUO they usually suspect some type of fraud. As mentioned, you are required to submit to an EUO otherwise the insurance company can deny the claim and you are done.

Last EUO I asked of an insured he stated that he was home cooking when he fell asleep. He awoke to the stove being on fire. A cause and origin investigator pulled samples and found accelerant in 3 different locations where fires had been started.

I would contact a lawyer if I were you. Like tcope said, there is a reason they want a EUO, and it sounds like they don't believe you. One piece of advise...Do Not Lie!
