kitchen floor and carpet is wet because my washing machine started leaking..Will my home owners insurance cover replacement if needed?

Replacement of what, the carpeting? Most likely... but you are subject to your deductible. Also, the carpeting needs to have been damaged to the point where it needs to be replaced.
