Stacked Uninsured Motorist

If an Insured stacks their UM coverage, can the Insured collect the coverage off the at fault parties vehicle or only under owned autos? I've had several answers and need to clarify. Thanks! :?:

If I have three policies in the state of South Carolina, can I stack the policies on underinsured because the at fault driver have mininum coverage for bodily injury of $25,000 and I also have the same amount of coverage on all three cars

Unless excluded by a provision in each policy, you may stack the coverage under UM/UIM to obtain a larger payment. You will not be paid twice for the amount the at fault party pays.

If the at fault party's liability coverage was $25,000 and you have three policies, each with $25,000 UM/UIM, in order to collect all $75,000 under your three policies the total claim or liability must equal or exceed $100,000.
