when a policy says a claim is void under the following circumstances:

Theft or attempted theft not using force and violence to get into or out of your home and

Theft or attempted theft using force and violence to get into or out of your home

then does it not cover you if someone breaks into your home?

many thanks

Well my friend, simply speaking when i read through the following line :

when a policy says a claim is void under the following circumstances:

It clear that its gonna show good reasons where the claim doesn't hold good.
Thus when I see this-

Theft or attempted theft not using force and violence to get into or out of your home and

Theft or attempted theft using force and violence to get into or out of your home

I feel its depicting the thing that its not gonna cover you from any kinda theft. Hence this part of the clause doesn't talk about whether its gonna cover you from anyone breaking into your place for any reason apart from burglary or theft!

Now, the idea can only be established once I know a bit more of whats been stated on the clauses. Do keep in touch! PumpkinRosa

Hi there!
What all else does your policy say? What is the nature of the policy ? I have this belief that you're carrying a policy to get protection for your home-contents from natural disturbances. Am I correct !

Hi Peter! If what Transvesta11 has guessed is correct then I'm sorry I too feel the same way- you would not derive any benefit out of this policy that you have in place. But yeah, there is no denying the fact that it had been a significant damage for your household. Looking forward to you..Claudia_Patty

It appears your policy has specific wording surrounding theft of personal property that require there be outside damage caused to gain entry into your home for this peril to apply.

IMO this can be read in many different ways and it's best to actually ask your agent. Force and violence is used in most thefts but it's not very clear..

If it has both of them, then I'm guessing that it wont cover you if your house is broken into, whenever you get harmed or not. You should really ask your agent about it.
