about 12 days ago i got in a car accident. The person was driving a companys truck and I was driving my Honda Element 2007 SC model. I was hit in the front and my car is looking pretty bad my concern is that none of my airbags did not deployed on the impact and it was a pretty bad impact my radiator and fan, lights are all gone. My insurance company after the inspectors look at it said that it can be fixed with about 7000. My car has not been taken to a body shop it is not drivable. I thought this was going to be total loss I dont feel like my car will ever be the same with a front hit that bad plus airbags not deploying does not make it that safe. what can I do? I was thinking about sending it to Honda's dealer to have them estimate the cost of repair with original parts because the insurance company is telling me about taking it to one of their body shops but I am not sure what parts they will be using on my car? what should I do? I cant believe they did not totaled my car and now I am left with a car that has an airbag defect and will have less value due to that front impact. Should I take it to Honda or should I let the Insurance take it to one of their body shops to have it fixed and assessed for supplemental damages?
:?: :(

WOW!! That's alot of damage. (Wanna add..I'm NOT an Insurance Expert here!!..just giving some advice) Did you mechanic happen to discuss with you the Kelly Blue Book value of the car? I don't know what it is, personally, on your make/model of car. If the value, in the KBB is LESS than the damages, then the car should be 'totaled'. You may want to try and find out.

Yeah i believe my car value is more. I am going to try to send it to a bodyshop to have it throughly assessed. because i dont believe the offer my insurance is making is going to cover all the damages my car was left with.
