I have an insurance policy with full coverage. The agent didnt list a lien holder on my policy and my car was stolen. My question is who will they make the check out to. I have a lien holder, but at the time I got my insurance policy the agent didnt ask me that information. I have two cars on my policy. My other car had its lien holder name on it, but the car that was stolen don't. What happens now.

If they are handling the vehicle as a total loss they will need to issue the payment to the lien holder as they need to obtain the title from them. At some point they will ask you if you have the title, you will then need to point out that the lien holder has it and they will then follow up with the lien holder.

I understand that the Insurance Co didn't ask you if you had a Lein on it, when you drew up the policy. However (not trying to 'pick on' you..) if you KNEW this information, why din't you tell your Insurance Co?

The lein will be on the title...and the carrier will then contact the lein holder and issue payment to them.

I don't understand why you would expect or want to be paid yourself rather than your leinholder, if that's what you're driving at...what gives?
