I had safe auto as my insurance company, my license was valid when i got the policy. I had gotten a speeding ticket across the state, and mailed a money order to pay it. The court never got it and i wasnt notified that my license was suspended. I then got into an accident and safe auto denied my claim due to the fact that my license was suspended. I then reinstated it. Well 6 months later i get a letter from the bmv saying that my license is suspended for a year do to the denied claim. is there anything i can do

I've personally never seen a claim denied for this..however, if you policy has wording in it that says you MUST have a valid license..then of course they can. If they denied your claim (in writing) then they should've also either quoted the policy wording or sent you a copy of the same...did they?

Wow. Thats a bad situation. Is there anyway the poster can go where the ticket was issued and find out why it was never recieved by him/her? If so maybe a a document of some sort could help out here. Also can't they trace the money order to see who recieved it and prove it was paid?

It would be easy to trace a Money Order...see where it went. I don't 'get it'.I mean I would think your DMV WOULD notify you if you had a suspended DL. I think what it boils down to is this...if you can prove you paid with a MO ( by tracing it..), then you can find out where it went, who cashed it (if it was cashed), etc. Then I don't think you should be paying ANY kind of fee to get your DL back.

.
.

fireyone & sdchargersfan

Are on the right track.

In my 'youth' early days of Rebel Rousing and high speed driving my license was suspended three times.

( I swear the sole on my right shoe was made of Lead)

Each time I received a notice stating the Date & Time the Suspension would begin & end along with when I was to Mail my Driver's License to the Pa. DMV.

Now if what happened to JNoble520.... happened to me... I would contact the DMV and attempt to find and correct the error. If that was unsuccessful I would contact our local Congressman (who was born & raised in my small [less than 1000 Population] home town. If that didn't get this error corrected I would then consult an Attorney and do whatever it took to correct this mess.

But then... that's just me. Smile and my way of thinking.
