I don't have auto insurance because I don't have a car. I would like to know, will it affect my premium in the future when I'll buy a car? I normally drive my company's car. Any suggestion on what type of insurance shall I buy?

I better go for non owner insurance, it might be limited policy but how can you insured a car without a car. "Things to consider."

By getting a non owners car insurance you will get right to drive any rented vehicle even if it is not in your name.

If you are driving a rented car or a car other than yours, now is the time to consider getting a non auto insurance policy. Many people think they only need to take out an insurance policy if they own the vehicle they are driving. But needless to say, most of the states now require any driver who operates a vehicle to hold financial means to settle in case accidents happen.

This is true. Many states are following laws like the State Minimum Coverage or Financial Responsibility.

Please tell us which ones do not have Financial Responsibility requirements for drivers?

It will not affect future premium when you buy a vehicle.
And, I do agree with Juanita that you should consider non-owner car insurance. It is the best suitable policy for individuals who don't personally own a vehicle, but still drive on a regular basis. Non-owner car coverage provides insurance in the driver's name and contains liability, medical or personal injury protection, uninsured and under insured coverage.

Looking at your situation it would be best to get non owner car insurance, I got it when I was in a similar situation and I found this article (Promotional link removed as per TOU) which helped me save time and money.
