Anyone else going out on cat duty?

Received and email today that they needed 2 "volunteers"... if you could not volunteer you were suppose to explain why (I think that means, "you volunteered, you volunteered", etc).

Three people in my state and 1 will be picked. One person has vacation planned during that time and the other has been with the company for about 4 months. They will let us know 9/19 and we'd leave on 9/20. Just 2 weeks in OH. If I go at least I'll learn how to write property estimates.

I could also use the extra money. :)

I'm safe from cat at the company I'm with now...they have a full time cat crew, but they do also ask for 'volunteers' from time to time...the young adjusters usually jump on it...so I have no worrys....Sounds to me like you'd better get to packin' brother....

I've worked many cat duty's in my time...the money is good and work while long...also is easy in the sense that you go in over pay it then you're done, if there are any supps later the locals have to handle that as well as follow ups...which is good....I only worked property cats twice, rest were autos at either a cat drive in (scheduled estimates every 20 minutes! 10 hours a day six days a week and 1/2 a day on sunday! ) or I shagged field estimates on vehicles ones, that couldn't or wouldn't set up drive in appointments (which I preferred).....gooooooooood money atleast for the company I was doing it for....however did get really pissed once, was supposed to be 2weeks max, well 'they couldn't get a replacement' and I ended up being there 4weeks, but they were gracious enough to allow me to go home if I wanted to one weekend...(thanks......ugggggggh)....

Good luck and don't hurt your back pullin' that ladder in and out of the car! or fall off a roof !
