I've noticed a few new posters running from thread to thread (even old threads) posting agreements from posts above on the thread. They are usually just agreeing with tcope or lori.

buckisaa, here is the thing.... you have been on this forum for 3 weeks now. I have been posting here for over 2 years. People know what kind of person I am so they are probably going to believe me when I tell them

1) that you posted the message I quoted and,
2) that you've now deleted that message and are now posting a message acting like you did not, in order to cover up what you did.

I did not post anything other then your message. I did not say anything publicly about your begging for donations or how inappropriate it was. But then you come along and try to _lie_ and tell people you never posted that? Rolling Eyes

Sorry, I know I should have more patients... but for somethings I just don't.

Below is the email triggered by buckisaa's post to my mailbox. So I guess one of us is lying.

When you see threads that were last active in May 08 pop up under your discussions (right hand side of browse) and you pull them up and see someone that has posted for a couple days, post agreements from other people on that same thread or basically parrot what was posted 8 months ago you sort of wonder.

Besides, I'm not sure why you are upset? I never accused you of doing this, I just made a comment that I noticed just recently this was being done.

Guys,

Please understand a very important thing here -

this forum is NOT meant for those who join with the sole intention of making quick money... I am really very surprised to see the no. of accounts being created lately with the sole intention of making $$ (Lakemen, are you listening?)

These users are giving me a tough time moderating their posts. I personally dont see any value being added to the forums from majority of posts coming from these "money-makers"

I would seriously suggest some improvements in the forum policies to help curb this rising menace.

Lakemen, jump in buddy!

PS. Lori, Juanita, Fatman - would you please share your thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Evan

I guess I wasn't the only one that had noticed this. I didn't even know there was money involved until about a month ago. I only signed up as I couldn't follow certain threads when only a guest. I just thought that the dollar amount was an indication on your post's worth. That would make this tread worth about 3 euros (FK help me with the euro sign)

Keep in mind, I was not critizing anyone's posts when I started this thread (though I don't disagree with Dasfuk). Everyone's opinion matters. There are people who abuse Lakemen's good will and every now and again people need to be reminded that it's just that, good will.

Thats all I will say 'bout that.

What proof are you talking about? I'm sure it wouldn't take the moderators much time to trace this one out..but we'd never ask them to get into this dirty little thing!

We'd rather look for other natural proofs-
The post pattern, the errors, the language..all suggest that you're the ONE!

We've known tcope..through his knowledge and presentation. There's not a single reason for us to believe otherwise!

Glad this is in the Pub...I need to vent.

tcope is one of the forum experts. You don't get to be an expert by being an idiot. His comments were not out of place nor were they incorrect. I remember seeing that post that's under discussion, I think. Our experts are experts because, now wait for it...they actually have expertise! Shocked

Now the vent. One of the things I appreciate about this place is that most posters only comment in a thread if they know what they're talking about. For those with knowledge, we want to share that knowledge with the rest of the world, and we want that information and advice to be accurate and succinct. So when those like tcope, lori, Spicuzza, InsInvestigator (where's he been?) Maze and Colbert, who know their stuff , contribute to the posts, it's done in a manner that educates and explains. They know when to stay away from areas they DON'T have expertise. This isn't a butt-kissing marathon here, I just need to make a point.

The point is that I appreciate it when posters stay away from areas they don't know, and don't try to "guess" at an answer. I've noticed that on many occasions a poster will respond simply to say "I don't know, but I'm sure someone will be along to help you out" and then earns $.25339 for that post. Evil or Very Mad

Please...Don't go to where ya don't know, ok? If you would like to ask the rest of the community for help- pm that person and ask them to respond to the thread through a link you provide. It's not that tough, and it saves us from those "poser-posters" that suck money out of the community's pocket. Mad We're trying to make this a professional, dependable Google-search machine, aren't we?

Amen to that Teach, but don't stop now, come back and finish!

I know that the member in question has been banned for good but this has raised a very important issue. As Evan has mentioned, lately I too have noticed that many accounts have been created in this community and most of these users aren’t contributing positively to this community. Some are also starting threads that simply don’t even make sense.

One thing we should make clear to all, that if you have come to this site with the motive only to make quick $$ ….you have come to the wrong place. If your contribution isn’t making the site richer, you won’t benefit from it either.

Regards,
Juanita

Yeah, it may have been started with a similar objective. But now, we'd like to make it even better. With so many knowledgable people around what else could we think! Smile

Yes, we'd come across hurdles...may be in the form of people too..but we definitely need to overcome them in order to achieve our goals. I've come across so many web-based insurance forums of late, but not a single one seemed so dynamic or well-equipped like this one.

We all have become so attached to this platform that most of us would be eager to learn more from our experts in order to research and add more to make it even better.
