I was rear ended while I was stopped at a red light.

I was rear ended while stopped at a red light. I was told by a body shop that my truck would be totaled by the insurance company, but my truck already has a salvage title. So my question is how much should I expect to receive from the insurance company?
Is their a minimum that the must pay to buy my only transportation?

I live in Dallas Texas
My truck is a 1998 Mazda B3000 ( Ford Ranger type truck) Extn. cab & standard transmission.

Body shop was probably right based on the book value of your truck. It really wouldn't take a whole lot of damage for them to total out the vehicle. I imagine they will offer a very low ball offer to you at first. You don't have to accept it. There is a chance they may not total the vehicle either and just fix it depending on the damage. If you feel as if you are getting low balled or done unfair by that insurance company, don't just settle with them without a fight. Consider getting an attorney if you have to, in order to get done fairly. I am tired of many insurance companies trying to get over on honest hard working people to save a buck. I don't expect insurance companies to over pay, just offer a very fair amount. It is hard for drivers to have a truck that is paid off, (salvaged title or not) and use the low amount of money they give you and get an equal value car. For example, they should offer an amount the driver would actually sale the truck for. It is just not fair and don't allow them to cheat you. Get expert advise from an attorney before getting an unfair amount.

From the OP

Ok in the 6th day after the accident I was offered $3400 for my truck and $2800 if I decided to keep my truck. So I kept my truck & received a $2800 settlement. I could'nt believe what a fair offer I received

Then from justong

Gotta laugh.
