Let me take it quite straight. Is there any travel insurance to cover business losses? I'd be really glad if you could recommend a competitive travel insurance policy that covers business losses, i.e., loss of contract due to missing a meeting. Any response would be appreciated.

Would you kindly elaborate? I was just wondering how could travel insurance be linked with business loss? Sorry as I raised another question while I was supposed to provide a comprehensive answer.

There are a few business travel insurance policies for the overseas businessmen that offer coverage for both personal and business equipment.

Both the employer and employee can avail such kind of insurance. But there is perhaps nothing as such that you are specifying.

You can contact your insurance agent in order to find more information on business travel insurance policy. He/she might be the best suited person.

The easiest thing that most people forget is that there are many credit card companies such as American Express those have built in insurance in case the travel arrangements are done using the credit card. However, the benefits or coverages are hardly known.

There are many UK based companies that offer comprehensive business travel insurance that usually protect business equipment, computer equipment, etc. But I’m not aware of any companies in the US.

This is an example of a "speculative" risk, and insurance does not cover speculative risk. Speculative risk is defined as having the potential for profit/gain or loss in the same event. If you don't miss the meeting and get the contract, are you willing to give 50% of your profit to the insurance company? I didn't think so.
