Lost a few short sections of siding on the corner of my house due to high winds (about 7'X3' worth). Was going to fix it myself but found that the color is not made any longer. The siding company did a nationwide search and was unable to find even 1 square of it (house is 8 years old). I have an adjuster coming out this week and need to know any tips on how to handle it since nothing new is going to even closely match the existing. This is not a fade issue. I reside in Iowa and have HO-3 policy that states "like kind and use".

Usually a carrier will do their best but they won't pay to replace all of the siding. They could pay just to replace the damaged siding and call it a day. If they wanted to go a step further they may pay to have some old siding moved from a section that is not as obvious to the affected area and then out the new siding on that spot that most people don't see.

Also if you read the policy, it states it covers direct physical damage. Matching is not direct damage, rather it is indirect.
