Why don't you go through the Sr. Market Advisor magazine? Also, you may find a way out while surfing through the agentssalesjournal.com. Regards, Backie-Dell _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

my friend,
Are you sure you are on the right track?
Are you acquainted with the FMO rules?
In my opinion the FMO rules for Life insurance are not the same as with the Health insurance.
Thats probably the reason why you need to be absolutely sure of whats lying in the plate presented in front of you!
Be careful while signing up any agreement. It has become a practice to hand you a blank agreement now-a-days!
You need to be sure of the hierarchy & the rank as well.
Good luck!

So you mean you are cashing on the cumulative databases of some independent agents? _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

I found two really good FMOs last year that specializie in Medicare Advantage and has contracts for several carriers. I use both for different products for a couple of reasons:
Premeire Insurance Partners (www.pip1.com)
Has best comissions for Medicare Advantage plans that I could find anywhere. Did not have Humanna or Secure Horizons
Messer Financial (www.messerfinanacial.com)
Has Humanna and Secure Horizons and a large portfolio of other senior products such as medigap, final expense, and long term care.
They also have annuities contracts but I havent messed with those at all.
Both FMOs are nationwide
Good Luck

Also, if you haven't heard there are several Medicare Advantage programs (large ones at that) that will be removing their PFFS (Private Fee For Service) plans for 2010. A few of these include Instil and Advantra Freedom (Coventry).
Have you had any experience with Medicare Advantage plans in the past? I would make sure you also have some long term care contracts, life contracts, and maybe even annuities. As always, major changes to the Medicare programs are coming! |

No doubt.
I was looking at this thread and it is over a year old. A whole lot has changed with the MA plans. I am now hesitant to sell them... _________________ http://newagentsolutions.ampminsure.org |

I still sell a good number of medicare advantage plans, and I'll tell you why. I live in South Carolina, and an overwhelming percentage of the seniors living in my area are low income. I'm not talking a little low income, I'm talking most are dual eligibles (Medicare and Medicaid) and many are on the low income drug subsidies and programs through the state.
There are virtually NO doctors in the area that will accept Medicaid, meaning that a lot of these people go to the free clinic to obtain medical care. Unfortunately, this means that they have no continuity of care and they see a different physician every single visit.
The Medicare Advantage plans allow these people to have access to certain health care benefits that they would never have otherwise. It also helps with glasses, dental care, and hearing.
If anybody can afford a supplement, that is what I suggest. However, a medicare advantage plan is still better than nothing...especially in my area where they are so widely accepted. I stick with the big companies and have been very happy with a couple of them.
One of the companies I deal with a lot is not going to be around in 2010...which means I now have about 50 clients that HAVE to sign up for another program. I've heard great things about the new Cigna Medicare Advantage plan...It has a $30 co-pay for hospital inpatient, no co-pays at the doctor's office, and a $2000 out of pocket maximum. We'll see when it gets a little closer to the time. |
