Can I stay on Cobra once I quit my job voluntary
Yes but it's very expensive. You will have to have a policy rewrite. I did this with an employer for about six months after I left. I ended up shopping term health coverage(sort of like pay as you go). i came to find out that I was paying through the nose when I could have spent half the amount for just about the same coverage for those six months. I did this because first, I was too lazy to shop and second I really didn't know enough about coverage and premiums other companies offered. It was not the best decision to do that.

Hi, I had a Health insurance through my previous company. I resigned there more than a week ago. I had stomach pain couple of day ago and did some medical tests and stuff. But surprisingly my insurance card worked...
I need to know why it worked?
Also, when i checked my previous "Employees benefits website", I found an option saying enroll for COBRA until certain date (Deadline)...
Now, I have 2 concerns;
1) The COBRA enrollment is very expensive. Its almost double from what I used to pay for the same health coverage.
2) What if i don't enroll will i have to pay for those medical tests from my pocket. I mean, will i be not considered insured because i wasn't working for that company anymore?
Please guide me there are only few days left for me to either enroll for COBRA.
thanks alot.

I am a teacher in Tennessee on Cigna group insurance. If I quit my job 6 months before I am eligible for retirement can I continue on the health insurance. At retirement we can stay on the insurance but we have to pay our and the schools part of the premium. I will begin to receive my retirement pay in 6 months but will I also be able to continue the insurance. I have many health problems and probably could not get insurance other wise.
