Though rules of each health insurance carrier are different, technically you need to add your newborn to your health insurance policy within a month of the birth. The same time frame is operational even for a legal adoption.
Failing to add the newborn within the given time may delay the coverage.

Why would you not cover your child at any age? This makes no sense. Age 6 . . . age 60 . . . how young is too young to have health insurance?
And MangoQurious . . . why can't you post replies that are on point? This is not about newborn children.
