I had 2 house fires with two difftrent claim numbers 1 fire was a loss of $110,000 the second was a total loss, can these two fires be combined using two diffrent claim numbers. And app 5 months apart.

2 different claim numbers would automatically refer to 2 separate claims. Since there is a lapse of time between 2 events, hence I see the reason why their processing-time might differ! So, I don't think it would go your desired way (ofcrs, unless there is such a provision to your policy!) Please have a word with the claims-adjuster!

Hi..

The thing is not quite clear to me as yet. Are you talking of showing the events as one...or is it that you want the claims fulfilled through one settlement? (..though the latter seems more likely..I don't see any reason why the carrier would empathize with you..when it comes to those 5 months)
Please clarify..

of course not! and why would you want them to be anyway what possible difference does it make? I'm confused, oh unless you are concerned about getting other coverage and want it to show only one house fire instead of two? Is that it? Sorry I'm having trouble seeing why you want to see if this can be done...at any rate...the answer is NO it cannot be combined...

The insurance company has 2 claim numbers and has charged us 2 deductibles, but are combining the claims together, can they do this? The home was partially repaired before the home burnt down.

, this is correct and how it should be...

NO, they can't but I'm not sure I'm understanding what you mean by 'combining the claims together' how are they doing that? how do you know they did that? and why would they? I'm sorry, I'm not getting it...if it's one claim number and one claim it would also be one deductible...what is the purpose of this...and who is saying they are doing this?

First off, 2 fires = 2 claims = 2 seperate incidents.

Now, only situation I can make of what you posted would be if they were not going to pay for the full replacement cost of the home since it was being rebuilt already and was not completed. If that's the case, I can understand their thinking, but I'm not sure what the state guidelines would say.

I think the OP means something like the following:

First loss is $50k on a $100k home.
Second loss is a total loss.

So the most the carrier is going to pay is the $100k ("combining" the loss.. but not really). Really the carrier is going to process one amount under the 1st claim ($50k) and the remaining amount ($50k) under the second claim.

The correct way to look at it is that the 1st loss was $50k, leaving the value at the home reduced by that $50k untill it was repaired. The 2nd loss was suffered before it was repaired so the house was worth $50k less.

Clear as mud? (if correct)

Maybe that's it tcope....if they hadn't repaired the first fire...that's what you are thinking right? I hope the OP comes back and clears this up, because I sure can't understand what they mean by this....
