Anyone Dealt with Javitch Collections

I had an accident and was at fault. The insurance sent me to Javitch Collections and I made payment arrangements with them 2 weeks ago. I wanted to pay off the whole amount. The money I was waiting for is my tax rebate it has not come through. I called them and asked to make different payment arrangements and they refused. Out of the 2000, I paid 800 and I am willing to pay the remaining 1200 in 4 payments and they could not even hear me out..

What can I do? Keep calling them? They said they were going to sue today. Can I still call or just keep making the payments even if they sue?

Does this go on my credit? Do I loose my licence instantly? Help?

I'm assuming you were at fault, did not have insurance and the company subrogated against you.

The company does not have to work out an installment plan with you, but many do just to try and collect something. It would be best if there were someone you could borrow the money from or a credit card you could use to pay it.

I don't know if continuing to call them would help if they don't seem to want to budge on making payments. I'd recommend paying as much and as quickly as you can.

If they file suit against you, it could be a while before it goes to court and you may be able to have it paid by then.

As for going on your credit, any bill that is more than 30 days past due can be noted on your report. Just do not let a judgement hit your credit, those hurt you credit the most.

Yes, payments should not stop..I guess!
As it is, being at-fault or getting a ticket enhances the chances of affecting the credit report in some ways or the other in the long run....stopping payments might send the wrong signals!

The money I was waiting for is my tax rebate it has not come through.

Try pursuing the case through your insurer, they would be in a better position to handle it with the collection agency. I see that we have a couple of similar circumstances shared across the insure forums. See, if the following one is of any help to you!

First... anything is possible but...

Collection companies are _scum_ (yes, I said it). Their employees will (are required to) say _anything_ to collect the most money possible. If they spend several thousands of dollars to file suit and win, they get a nice peice of paper and can attach a lien if they want. Collection companies just don't sue. It _cost_ them money and they get nothing more for their money. They already have pretty broad rights.

IMHO it's just a threat to get you to pay. My recommendation is to make payments in a timely fashion and don't let it run your life.

BTW- I don't think your tax rebate will be in your hands for another 3 months or so.

Call whomever you need to and try and borrow the money then pay that party back when you get your rebate...(think july is the earliest payment coming out right?)....clearly YOU changed the orginally agreement with them without their permission...that's what's got you into this trouble...call and ask to talk to a supervisor or manager and tell them I'm sending you ''''blank'''' amount of money TODAY the most you can send them keep sendinging them payments per your agreement once your taxes are in your hand pay off the balance if you cannot borrow this money somewhere else...and yes, they will file to pull your license.
