Does the Weather really affect sales?

I had an agent tell me that when the weather is bad outside, they try and stay home and not make any appointments or prospect.

But I would think that more prospects would be home in bad weather.

In great weather, they would be out doing more and would be busier, I would think.
If it is raining for example, they could not be outside working in the yards or would be more limited to the things they could do. They might have more time for you.

So, does weather really matter? Do people buy more in the summer then the winter, or on bad weather day’s verses good weather days?

I feel like it has more to do with the day of the week and time of day than the weather overall. Except on weekends. Sunny, warm days on the weekend are terrible for calling but rainy days are great. During the week I have better results during 8am to 10am, noon to 1, and then after 6pm., rain or shine.

As far as full moons, you might get more impulse buyers then. :D

rainy days are proven to be good for me also.Because the person (client) is in no mood to work on another issue or he is also not enthusiatic about enjoying the weekend with his family due to rains, so prefers to stay at home and watch a movie.

If the weekend is with sunny and fresh atmoshpehere then who (agent) will get the appointment from client on this 'enjoy the party' mood.
So in my opinion this bad weather (rainy season) is a "blessing in disuguise" for the agent. Make a optimum use of this opportunity

I think so, weather affects sales but i dont think there are more prospect in bad weather days. Do you think there is more people going out in bad weather? Dont think so, unless you make house to house sales, you are sure that main person in each houses are inside. Besides, bad weather is dangerous especially in winter. When you think that its not just a bad weather then just follow your laziness. Just double up your work when good weather comes.

^^ and thats where you can measure the ability of an insurance sales person. Good communication makes sales! That situation is common right. I wouldnt bother myself to listen to them not unless they got my attention.

Yes its true but here we are discussing about the effect of weather on the sale.Ability to pitch one's product is a basic requirement in order to sell one's product . there should not be any doubt about this condition.

but weather does help in a positive as well as negative way despite one has topmost selling skills.Sell of insurance mainly depend on the person's abilities but weather does have its some part in the story.

Its hard to convince when you dont have one to convince. Since in bad weather, people will just choose to stay inside, it means that its hard to meet people outside at those times. Well, it is true that in every given situation there is advantage and disadvantages, it just matter on how you see and take them.

I think weather is not cause of deduction in sale. Because No any thing related with weather in Summer & winter.
But the Rainy Season will effect on sell. because the more people have not mood to go out of home. This will effect on sell.
But if we can work hard w
