I plan on taking my dad's car to Edmonton (3000 kilometers away), and he will still be the policyholder on the insurance for the car, but I will be the primary driver... will insurance companies not like this?

All policys must conform to the statute of the state they are in...so if (as an example) VA doesn't require UM, MO however does...also she would have to have the min. required by that state..

Hi Steven,
Had separate paperwork, policy number, the whole shooting match was separate. However, I did get to keep the roadside assistance on kid's vehicle even though did not have a vehicle insured with full coverage on same policy (think I mentioned previously that no comp/coll. on his vehicle).

@Kelvin
About the limits for MO or VA -- I'm unsure because I had much higher than state mims. for both.
@Steven
Companion policy/dec. page came with VA policy book and my original policy came with MO policy book.

So, it reacted seperately under the different auto insurance requirements of the two states, right?
