In michigan BCBS will cover all. There is a 6 month waiting period for pre-existing conditions without prior group coverage. They will take all health conditions.

That would be great if it does cover everything...but, I'm sure you would be paying a VERY HIGH premium.

All employer based health plans that I've ever seen will cover pre-existing conditions after a 6 month or 12 month waiting period if there had been a break in coverage. With no waiting period if there is continous coverage. Independent plans could be a different story.

WOW!!..that's pretty good. Not alot of Insurance plans will do that. Anything like that in the state of PA, that you know of?

SD you an visit your local welfare office and they can help give you information and let you know if there are plans out there that will cover you. I do know Highmark will take pre existing conditions but like someone else said there is a waiting period. You have to be very truthful when filling out the original application because if they find out later something was preexisting it could lead to a lot of problems and having the policy cancelled.
Also you should have a community action program in your area (being that you are in PA) that will help you find insurance.

What Das was saying is that if your employer provides health coverage, (this is for the employee only)...then they most generally HAVE to accept the pre-existing condition after a certain time frame. He was not speaking to private policys, only group/employee policys

In the state of Michigan, Blue Cross Blue Shield is the carrier of last resort. Are the rates a bit higher? Absolutely, but not high enough to warrant not having coverage. What they do not cover is cosmetic surgery with the exception of breast reconstruction due to cancer.
