Hi!

I am trying to get more opinions regarding websites that sell health insurance. So far, I found ehealth.com, anyhealthinsurance.com and vimo.com
Has anybody bought from those places? any recommendations?

Thank you!

The discount plans have their place (mainly for those who cant qualify for traditional health insurance) but that is getting smaller everyday with many states putting together risk pool insurance.

The most cost effective type of plan are QHDPs. They cover the large expenses like hospitalizations or chronic illnesses great after a deductible is met. For all of the small things you get a network discount.

The cost in premiums are a lot lower and your exposure to huge medical expenses are relatively small also. It just seems like a lot of people have a hard time wrapping their mind around this.

The majority of people have been conditioned to the older employer group plan type benefits. When folks get one of these type plans as an individual they usually pay way to much for the benefit they are getting.

In today's economical crisis, many employers are cutting back on health benefits or totally eliminating group health coverage . . . so what do we do now?

There are many options:
(1) Hospital Indemnity Plans
(2) Mini-Meds
(3) Discount Health Plans
(4) Major Medical Plans

If you were to go into the hospital, had you rather have a health plan that pays you $250 per day, or no health plan at all?

If you went to the emergency room, would you rather have a health plan that pays 50% of the emergency room bill or no health plan at all?

For those who can afford $250 - $350 per month for an individual major medical insurance policy, that's obviously the best way to go.
But for those who can't, some coverage is better than no coverage.

Health insurance agents provide for themselves and their families by selling health insurance. It's just not rocket science. 8)

Hi,
Lots of online websites provide health insurance plans. I have bought a health insurance plan from cvty-healthinsurance.com for my mother in law. In my opinion it has better health insurance plans for all.

I would try going to an insurance directory that compares prices of different companies. Sometimes it's better not to go off solely off of a consultation with an agent; Randy M is kind of right...

Just wanted to clarify some things:

I think Cathy may have accidentially put out the wrong information about AmeriPlan.

AmeriPlan is NOT insurance! Here's AmeriPlan's disclaimer:
The discount medical plans of AmeriPlan® offer a reduction in the cost of medical, dental, vision, pharmaceutical and chiropractic services. AmeriPlan® discount benefit programs are not insurance, nor are they an alternative to or substitution for insurance coverage. Since they are not health insurance, members must use AmeriPlan® providers and members are responsible for payment to the AmeriPlan® providers at point of service of discount healthcare fees incurred. If you currently have insurance, you should be aware that canceling that policy may make it difficult to later obtain coverage. AmeriPlan® recommends that you speak to your insurance agent or your company's insurance administrator before canceling any health insurance policy for any reason.

I'm sure Cathy's intentions were meant well, but for someone who is with AmeriPlan I want to make sure people don't get confused or recieve the wrong information about the company and the benefits plans we offer.

It just makes our members confused and gives others who are also with AmeriPlan a bad rep because it shows that we are not clear or know what we are talking about.

Just my 2 cents. Stay Positive! :)
