Has anyone else experienced issues with LTD company name Dearborn National, formally FT Dearborn Life, as it relates to the requesting of your dependent retroactive benefits from Social Security as well as requesting that your benefit it reduced by not only your SS benefit amount but the amount that is set forth for the children as well? I am trying to find others that has had the same thing happen as I am going through now. I do not think it is fair what they are doing and I am looking to take them to court. I am looking to basically just get my kids money.

Hello. This question might be confusing but any help is greatly appreciated. I live in the state of California. I was laid-off from work in April 2011 and was on extended unemployment until July 2012. I did however start working part-time in March 2012 but was still able to collect unemployment because my wages were still low. In August 2012, my doctor placed me on Disability due to pregnancy related issues. My question is based on my "base period" of which they determine the amount of disability you qualify for, I was on unemployment for three of the quarters.

I was laid off 9/11 and was collecting unemployment. Previously, I had been on disability due to mental health issues but had gone back to work for 2 years but was laid off. About 2 months ago I made an inquiry to disability about what the procedure would be if I was unable to return to work as my issues were once again getting exacerbated. They told me I would need to file an Expedited Reinstatement rather than having to reapply since I was still in the 36 month time limit.

Can anyone tell how to claim disability insurance?

I have a workers comp claim and have been dealing with them with an attorney for three years. I need to know if I can sue the workers comp insurance company for bad faith under a civil claim while I am also dealing with the workers comp claim? I have been advised by my councilor to file a civil suit and that he would go to court with me. My injury has already been surgical once and I need another surgery and it has caused depression, anxiety, paranoia.

I am currently on unemployment since October 2011. I had a struck on Monday. Iwas in hospital for 5 days. The hospital doctor told to rest for aweek and then see my primary physician. The doctor he would be recommending to my Primary i that i rest For a month while receiving therapy.

Should i switch from UI to disability? If my disbaility is only 6 Weeks will I be able to return to UI afterwards until i find a job?

i know a person (state of TN) who lied about looking for a job, but collected the max amount of unemployment benefits. now they are claiming to be disable and unable to work - is this fraud?

Hello. I am currently unemployed in CA and receiving unemployment insurance which will expire soon. I am currently pregnant. Should I file for disability insurance (maybe it's too early; baby due in 4 months) or file another claim for unemployment insurance and not collect on the period I am unable to work? I know you can't collect on both. If I file for disability, can I file for unemployment again?
