I am an independent handyman who does mostly small jobs that the bigger plumbers and carpenters do not want to bother with. I have been doing this the last few years, after working with other handymen as an assistant. Each year I am getting more and more work, and my income is growing. In the last year, one friend fell from a roof, landing on a cement flower planter, another was diagnosed with cancer. Both of my friends are in bad shape, and did not have insurance. They are having a bad time financially, and I do not want to end up in the same boat if something happens.

I WAS ON UNEMPLOYMENT IN NJ AND AS SOON AS IT RAN OUT TWO WEEKS LATER I BECAME DISABLED CAN I COLLECT SHORT TERM NJ DISABILITY DOES ANYONE KNOW THE RIGHT ANSWER

Hi and help. I am collecting unemployment and just found out I may need surgery but I am still job hunting. IF I do end up needing surgery I DO know my UI will stop but how long will I be able to receive short term disability. Is it ONLY the remaining weeks of my UI or does it start it's own cycle of weeks??

If my tdi runs out in the state of nj an my doctor still won’t clear me to back to work what can I do to collect funds.

How long do I have to get a tag after purchasing a vehicle. I heard it was 10 but now it's 20 days . this is in the state of Alabama

Looking for disability insurance for a fixed period to cover defined liabilities.I am working and do have the normal short and long term policies. However, I have recently taken on certain financial responsibilities necessitating the need for increased coverage. I need coverage for up to 6 years. I am 71 years old and in good health.

My disability runs out in the next four months. I have applied for SSDI and am waiting on a hearing date. I had to quit my job due to severe health issues. My job indicated that they would grant unemployment because I left in good standing and my health issues were beyond my control. But I left in July 2014, would I still be eligible for unemployment since it has been so long since I worked for this company. I anticipate my SSDI hearing in the next nine months.

I live in CA and have been on temp disability for 53 weeks next month. I will be able to return to work June 1, 2016, I am not sure if I will be laid off or not. Since Unemployment pays you from your highest paid quarter for the last 12 months (52 weeks) will I be eligible for benefits?

I have Aflac my plan is Cancer, I have been paying on it for 13yr , can I cash out the policy and get money back?

I'm currently receiving SDI and will be able to actively look for work as of the 1st of February. Could I pre apply for UI benefits.
