Hi everyone,

I am an Insurance specialist. I want to share some information regarding the benefits of hiring an insurance specialist and how they help in getting your claim through successfully.

Insurance claims are very tricky. Due to lack of knowledge and expertise about the policies of insurance companies, claimants or policyholders are not able to successfully fight for their claim with them.

how can they think my claim is FRAUD? PLEASE PLEASE HELP

Thanks in advance for anything you can offer that will help me. six months ago I was involved in a terrible auto accident that I very well should have died in. My Ford Excursion rolled 4 times and I was then thrown (when the locked door opened) 40' which I sustained a broken back and right/left shattered arms/wrists/hands. Needless to say, it's been a difficult time and to top it off, my husband asked for a divorce one week prior to my accident and even though I almost died, still wanted it when I can home from hospital.

UNEXPECTED PREMIUM INCREASE

I make insurance payments through automatic bank withdrawls. I noticed that my last withdrawl was exceptionally high. I phoned my American Family Agent to ask about this and was told that since my adult daughter is now living with me she must be assigned to one of my vehicles as a drive and that this caused my premiums to rise. Not only was I not notified about this, it was done without my knowledge or consent. I explained that my daughter had her own vehicle and her own insurance policy through another company. I was told that this did not matter.

Unfair Claims Practices -- They are not "fraud"

Insurance fraud is committed (or attempted) by persons against insurance companies (or in an attempt to collect on a claim against a person who is "self-insured" [unisured = self insured]).

Insurance companies can and do commit unlawful acts against policyowners and claimants who file claims. But those acts are not "insurance fraud", they are "unfair acts or practices" defined in a state's insurance code, commissioner's regulations, or other state statutes.

same day insurance...?

If you are driving with no insurance and cause an accident, can you go home and sign up for insurance that same day, so you will be covered for the accident? the effective date of the new policy will be the same as the date of the accident, so you should be good, right?

Or what if you have a rock hit your windshield and cause it to crack, but have no insurance? Can you sign up a few days later, then make a claim? how will the insurance company know when the crack occurred?

Why complaining to the right "person" is worth it!

To those who don't think making a complaint to the state Department of Insurance has any effect, please read on. One insurance company (doing business under two names) was the subject of a "market conduct" examination (having previously been fined for similar market conduct violations five years prior). When examiners looked at 596 random claim files, they found 661 assorted violations. What would they have found if they examined 100% of the claim files?

Market conduct exams happen about every five years, or more often if enough complaints are received by the regulators.
