Do I need to repair if insurance paid out for roof damage?

My Insurance paid out hail damage on the roof. It was not extensive damage just few blows to about 15 shingles. Since those shingles are not made anymore, they paid for entire roof replacement.
I did not repair and they cancelled my insurance. My question is, do I need to do repairs for obtaining new insurance?
